Cardiogenic Shock Initiative

VCSQI-VHAC Meetings: On September 23rd, over 90 participants joined virtually to learn about the VCSQI/VHAC Cardiogenic Shock Initiative. The meeting's comprehensive agenda includes: case studies of shock patients, how different types of shock are defined and differentiated, cardiogenic shock management in the contemporary ICU, and the surgical perspective of shock patient management. VCSQI and VHAC members continue to meet monthly to review member's shock team protocols with the goal of creating standardized practice recommendations to improve outcomes for shock patients.
